Main EVS website index page
This is the entrance point for my web pages
on Electronic Voting Systems (EVS) for use in lectures; or more generally for
interactive lectures
(ILIG = Interactive Lecture Interest Group); or more specifically for the PRS
equipment which we mainly use, and for
local Glasgow University arrangements.
If you want a quick look at what it's all about, to see if it might interest
you, then try
To see all the things available on this site you should read over
the main website index page; or print off all the
pages to study: they are available as a single web page ready for printing:
compilation on designing lectures
(that use an EVS) and
a comprehensive compilation.
Some of the most popular parts are:
- How to present using EVS: look at the set of pages, from
getting started
and then go on to those on
more detailed design of questions and sessions
- People:
A list of other people in the UK using EVS
- Equipment vendors:
If you are thinking of buying equipment: a
list of vendors.
- Papers on EVS:
If you need to convince either yourself or others (in a funding
application), then the
list of papers on EVS written in the UK
may prove helpful.
- Video:
We also have an online video
showing a whole lecture using EVS in a large class, with interviews of
students and the lecturer appended. Note however that this is NOT an
introduction like a TV documentary to attract casual viewers too unmotivated
to read: it is only meant to supplement the written pages by showing things
like setting up the equipment, and what students actually say.
- History:
A history of some predecessor technologies
