Research towards a multimedia test collection
There will be a seminar at 4pm on Mon. 11 May. for the Information Retrieval
group in room F091 Computing Science Dept.,
17 Lilybank Gardens
on "Research towards a multimedia test collection".
I will talk about the early ideas emerging from
MIRA
on a project to research a Multimedia Test collection.
This talk will be about preliminary ideas for a project about a multimedia
test collection. It is already clear that instead of a simple proposal to
build a TC, much of the research will be about whether such a notion is
sensible, and if so in what way. Thus evaluating the evaluations will be
the primary theme, and exploring alternative proxy measures (comparable to
precision and recall) will be a second theme.
